Real testing. Every guide here is informed by hands-on use of the platforms it discusses. Our team has tested 13+ AI companion apps over 200+ days. Pricing tables get re-verified every month. Feature claims get checked against the actual product, not the marketing page. When we say a platform is good or bad at something, it is because we tried it ourselves, paid for premium tiers ourselves, and ran the same tests across multiple platforms to compare.

Guides are reviewed quarterly (January, April, July, October) and updated whenever something material changes on a covered platform: pricing changes, new features, policy shifts, or shutdowns. Each guide page shows its last-updated date. Our pricing comparison guide is verified monthly because pricing moves the fastest. The technical guides get updated when we observe new behavior in our ongoing testing.

After that, "How to choose an AI girlfriend" walks you through the 6 questions that narrow down which platform fits your goals. From there, you can drill into specific feature guides (voice, video, memory, NSFW) based on what matters to you. The whole onboarding path takes about 25 minutes of reading.

Reviews go deep on a single platform with our hands-on testing notes. Comparisons put two or more platforms head-to-head on specific tradeoffs. Use guides when you are learning, reviews when you want a deep dive on one product, and comparisons when you have narrowed it down to a few candidates and need to pick.
