Credentialing line (copy verbatim)

“Nolan Voss, lead editor at AI Companion Picker, which tracks Reddit, YouTube, and Google Play sentiment across 13 AI companion platforms with methodology disclosed and versioned at aicompanionpicker.com/about/methodology/.”

Methodology

The community-pulse dataset combines public Reddit threads, YouTube video reviews + comments, and Google Play store reviews. An LLM classifier (Claude Haiku 4.5) scores sentiment across five fixed aspects (Character Quality, Pricing & Value, Image/Media Generation, Privacy & Safety, Customer Support). Scores update on a bi-weekly cadence (1st and 15th of each month).

The methodology page publishes the full classifier prompt verbatim, sample sizes per cycle, parameter tables, exclusion rules, and a versioned change log. Methodology version v1.0 is the current release. Citations should reference the version used so readers can verify against the methodology that produced the cited data.

Transparency Commitment

Our standing offer to fact-checkers

We publish raw data, classifier prompts, and exclusion rules. Verify our work. Email nolan@aicompanionpicker.com for collector scripts, sample input/output pairs, or methodology revision history.

  • Classifier prompt published verbatim at /about/methodology/
  • Sample sizes by source published per cycle
  • Exclusion rules documented and parameter values frozen per methodology version
  • CSV downloads include license + methodology metadata in header rows (offline-verifiable)
  • JSON API includes methodology URL + version in every response

Best for / Not Suitable for

Best for

  • ·Trend analysis over weeks, months, or quarters
  • ·Comparing community sentiment across platforms
  • ·Identifying which user concerns are driving overall sentiment (per-aspect breakdown)
  • ·Pricing-perception, customer-support, and feature-quality reporting

Caveats

  • ·Bi-weekly cadence: events within the past 14 days may predate the most recent window. Cite the dated snapshot URL, not the latest alias.
  • ·Public-discussion sample, not statistically representative
  • ·English-language sources only
  • ·Six platforms in the tracking list have insufficient signal (per confidence-threshold gate; see methodology)

Latest Dataset Snapshots

Per-platform snapshot for June 2026. Each row links to the dashboard, dated CSV, dated JSON, and pre-rendered SVG charts you can embed or screenshot directly.

Cite the dated snapshot URL (CSV or JSON) in stories. The dashboard URL is fine for general reference; the CSV/JSON is what locks the citation to a specific methodology version.

Editorial Chart Images

Pre-rendered SVG charts for editorial use. Right-click + Save As to download. Embed code (with required attribution) is generated by the “Embed this chart” button on every dashboard page.

Thumbnails are previewed on a white panel because the chart SVGs adapt to the visitor's OS color preference; on the press kit’s dark surface, light-mode renderings would be invisible. Embedded charts on a partner site adopt the host page’s color scheme automatically.

Pick the time-window slice that matches your story arc on each platform’s dashboard (slice picker in the embed modal). Slice URL pattern: /widgets/[platform]/[metric]/[period].svg.
